About the Band Leader:

Scott Simpkins founded Jazz Fever over 20 years ago. He is a graduate of the prestigious Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance. Highly skilled on the Saxophone, Scott is also an accomplished Clarinet and Flute player, demonstrating his versatility and passion for a wide range of musical styles.

Over the course of his career, he has performed at iconic venues such as the Sydney Opera House, The State Theatre, Adelaide Entertainment Centre, Crown Theatre Perth, and QPAC Concert Hall in Brisbane. He has toured

the country alongside some of Australia’s most renowned artists and ensembles, including jazz legend James Morrison’s Big Band, rock icons Moving Pictures, The Glenn Miller Orchestra (LA), John Morrison’s Swing City, country music star Melinda Schneider, Tom Burlinson (of The Man From Snowy River), opera stars Marian Prior and Mark Vincent, and he has participated in acclaimed productions like Jersey Boys and Guys and Dolls.

Scott’s talent has taken him beyond Australia’s borders, performing at some of the world’s most prestigious jazz festivals, including the legendary North Sea Jazz Festival and Montreux Jazz Festival, further cementing his reputation as a world-class musician.
